On Friday, August 19, 2005, Maryland Governor Robert B. Ehrlich came to visit Berlin. In a light drizzle, in front of the Atlantic Hotel, he officially designated Berlin an Arts and Entertainment District. It was a treat for the downtown area when the Governor strolled from the Farmer's Market down Main St. to the Atlantic Hotel, shaking hands and chatting with local business owners and residents along the way.
